We are a husband and wife team whose dream was to go on an African overland camping adventure.
We found a Land Rover for sale, flew up to buy it, but knew it wasn't right when we saw it. Dejected and without a plan or a ticket home, we rolled our overnight suitcases out of the dealership, looked across the street at another lot, and there she was!
Without a word to each other, we knew. She's a 1996 Defender 110 300tdi with a history we'll never know. We drove her home, camping along the way...
We thought it might take quite a bit of money to equip her for travel, but we never could guess just how much money! So John (the husband part of the team) began the process of creating his own designs. His first was the bash plate.
People started asking him about it and John had the idea to create a line of Land Rover accessories for others like us, who want to travel, and are looking for affordable, quality products.
Walt Disney said "All our dreams can come true, if we have the courage to pursue them." Thanks to those first clients, who gave us the courage, we took a huge leap of faith and John quit his job to start Stone Accessories.
John is a qualified aircraft and powerplant mechanic and has over 25 year's experience rebuilding aircraft in the company he owned with his brother.
